We have been able to keep our fuel cost at under 30% of total gross sales. Really big for us. Onwards to 8.5 mpg then on to 9.0 mpg !!!! PDI in St. George Utah does a lot to help us get there. We just put on PP turbo boot and wrapped the whole exhaust with the heat wrap tape what a big big improvement that made !!! half as loud as it was before , picked up about .2-.3 mpg and the engine will not hit 200 degrees coolant no matter what. Wonder if i will be rich and famous when i get to 9 mpg ...??

William ,,

I recommend doing everything all at once , or at least the exhaust side all at once. Manifold , turbo , inlarged front portion of exhaust pipe , turbo boot and wrap all the exhaust. With everything we did we actually picked up almost 2 mpg !!!!!! And they run so darn good with all that work. Like night and day difference.

I plan on doing that, considering mounting the muffler under the cab like Bruce recommends.

Great idea William. You dont have to do either or you can do both like we plan on doing. We do not have mufflers on our newer trucks just the dpf's. The exaust pipe emptys out the side of the dpf then goes up the back of the sleeper. I want to put a tail pipe out the back of the dpf so i would have dual exhaust. Little nervous about doing that thinking it might draw more attention to our trucks at California weigh stations. I would do it for sure if California forces me out like they seem to be trying to do. No trouble yet but ....... Tons of tons of old non compliant trucks here in Cali ....
